JoeCo BLACKBOX RECORDER used on Richard Thompson tour

Richard Thompson

December 2009. The BLACKBOX RECORDER has been used to capture a series of recent concerts given by legendary guitarist Richard Thompson in Northern California. The recent Montalvo All Request Shows were recorded for possible future release. Simon Tassano was the FOH engineer and used the new BBR1 - BlackBox Recorder. He said he was very impressed with the unit - both with it's quality and ease of operation. "The machine performed very well. Well, laid out, easy to set up and operate and the results sound great in my studio!"

JoeCo BLACKBOX RECORDER picks up Awards

PLASA Award Winner PAR Excellence Award Winner

JoeCo is delighted to have been awarded one of the prestigious PLASA Awards for Innovation at the PLASA 09 show for the BLACKBOX RECORDER. More information...

The PAR Excellence 2009 Award. Capturing live performance simply and affordably — purpose-designed for its application in a 1U chassis with no computer required. Smack yourself in the forehead and say, 'Why didn't I think of that?' ... CPUless digital recording with no moving parts is an exciting solution for capturing audio while on tour, and everywhere else!"

The JoeCo BLACKBOX RECORDER has also recently won an Audio Media, Gear of the Year 2009 Award. The editor commented: "The best thing about the BlackBox is that it's built-for-purpose and it's fit-for-purpose. No moving parts, no complex set-up, no engineer required... no peer"

Capturing Live Performance

If you're involved in live performance, whether in a band, on tour, working the mixing console, recording audio for conferences, conventions or religious services, the JoeCo BLACKBOX RECORDER is for you.

The BLACKBOX RECORDER has been designed specifically to take the hassle out of creating top quality multitrack recordings. It uses ordinary USB2 drives as its media that can be easily replayed in the auditorium or taken back to remix on your Digital Audio Workstation. Great for small bands to get more gigs or analyse their performances or for major acts to create material for archive purposes or future releases.

You no longer need to dismantle your studio to record each individual signal from a live mixing console. The BLACKBOX RECORDER simply plugs into the insert points on the console and records everything directly from the mic amps.

The BLACKBOX RECORDER also provides the facility to replay virtual sound checks, helping to get the foldback mix right and allowing the band to hear what they sound like on stage while the engineer balances the sound to compensate for the venue.

There are four variants of the BLACKBOX RECORDER:

BBR1 - The standard BLACKBOX RECORDER

BBR1-B - BLACKBOX RECORDER with Balanced i/o

BBR1-A - BLACKBOX RECORDER with ADAT Lightpipe i/o

BBR1-D - BLACKBOX RECORDER with AES/EBU i/o
